With the anticipated influx of people now that the province offers to promote blockchain technology, Bataan 2nd district Congressman Abet Garcia said he is pushing for MICE tourism in the province and in Balanga City.

“Dito na gawin ang conventions, conferences, and exhibits para umusbong ang turismo”, the solon said in an interview by local newsmen.

“Bukod pa yan sa kaalaman na pwedeng maganap dito at magagamit natin sa good governance at mas magandang buhay dito sa Bataan”, he added.

For the use of blockchain technology in good governance, the congressman cited the distribution of financial assistance to beneficiaries and stipend of scholars in the province can be made easier and convenient.

Garcia is optimistic that with blockchain experts and investors from here and abroad seeing the capacity and willingness of the province to promote and host the emerging technology, there would be a surge of conventions and conferences in the province in the near future.

Bataan recently hosted the 2-day 1st Global Blockchain Technology Summit. According to the Bataan Tourism Office, with hotels and resorts available, Bataan is very much ready for the MICE market.
